Participation in Amgen Teach programme: National training

Nicole is an experienced primary school Italian teacher, who has recently joined the Amgen Teach Community.

When asked about how Amgen Teach enhanced her confidence and ability to use inquiry-based science education in her classroom, she responds by saying, "I have learned how to use experiments in my subjects. Thanks to Amgen Teach, the students recognise the facts quicker, remember them better and enjoy the lessons more. I use, for example,  coloured water, pipettes and test tubes in the classroom."

Nicole says that after her training, she felt more confident in using experiments in her classroom. She also highlights the fact that "some students tell me how they have conducted experiments in their spare time."

Recently, one of Nicole's students asked for an experiment to take place on his birthday. Nicole explains, "When we learned about aggregate conditions, we compared a snowman with a jacket and without.  Using enveloped ice cubes, the students had had to find out what happened. They had a lot of fun and did not even realised that they were learning at the same time."
